For those who have frequented workout gyms, the name 'Nautilus' will be a familiar one. Their machines are a common component of most modern gyms, and have been since their introduction in the early '80s. Bowflex is the home gym component of Nautilus, and the latest entrant into this market is the Bowflex Revolution, a compact and relatively lightweight fitness machine designed as an all-in-one machine for home use.

What makes the Bowflex Revolution unique is the new patented Spiraflex technology, originally designed for use in space, where Bloggola weight resistance doesn't work. Most Nautilus machines rely on heavy adjustable weight plates, which are fine for a commercial gym with plenty of space and a dedicated spot for the machine to sit. Home gyms, however, need to be more versatile, since the machines are often moved from place to place, and the mass of weight would be too much for both your back and your floors.

The first idea to get past this limitation was the Power Rod system of earlier Bowflex models. One of the added bonuses of this technology is that the motion is considered linear, and not progressive, as it is with the Power Rods. Whereas with the Power Rods, the tension is most intense when the rod is completely bent, and gradually eases as the rod straightens. The advantage of this is that negative motion - the movement of the muscle back to the original position - is considered an excellent part of the workout, one that is often neglected. Many free weight users allow the weights to 'fall' on their way back to form, thus letting gravity assist in the movement. With the Spiraflex technology the tension does not ease until the band is completely coiled again.

The other big advantage of Spiraflex technology is that the plates are very light, while still providing an equivalent workout to moving big weights. Free weight enthusiasts will be familiar with the action of loading up weight plates on the bar, which can sometimes be a bit of a workout itself. With Spiraflex your muscles get a chance to rest between exercises, since the weight of the plates is negligible when swapping sizes. Also, the overall weight of the machine is considerably lighter, since you don't actually have to have an equivalent real weight to provide the same amount of tension. This is great for a home gym where you might need to push the machine out of the way, or perhaps it is set up on a second floor where it wouldn't be a great idea to have hundreds of pounds of weight putting constant pressure on the floor joists.

The Flushing Meadows Park Zoo Animal Mutilations and UFO Mystery

Flushing Meadows Park has a long Thebusstops unusual history. It is located ten miles east of Manhattan on Long Island in the Borough of Queens, New York City, between the towns of Flushing and Corona. The park started out as swampy land situated along Flushing Creek. The area skirted ancient Native American trails that were later developed into Rodman Street (today it's called College Point Boulevard), Roosevelt Avenue and other paved roadways.

The place had a bad reputation among the original inhabitants. The Jameco, Reckowacky and Mespat Indians avoided fishing and hunting in that area. Most animals stayed away from the Mosquito ridden grounds with its stale water and often foul odor. When Dutch and English Settlers arrived in the region during the early to mid-1600s and began to establish farms, homes and business, they found the swampy land equally repulsive.

The Settlers called the area "rotten land" and avoided it for health and superstitious reasons. Odd lights were often seen high over the swamp and some of these sightings were noted in early church logbooks. These sightings should not be confused with swamp gas, a natural phenomenon that requires certain environmental elements to be present when it occurs and never appears very far off the ground.

Because of its location and inability to be used for much else, the swampy land became a dumping area for ashes. By the 1920's, it was known as the Corona Ash Dumps. F. Scott Fitzgerald called the place "a valley of ashes" in The Great Gatsby, his famous 1925 novel about Long Island Society. However, the once worthless area was about to be transformed into a marvelous showplace thanks to a grand event known as the World's Fair.

Because it was one of the few large blocks of land still available for development in the New York City area, Parks Commissioner Robert Moses and city planners devised a plan to clear and fill the land for use as the site of the 1939-1940 New York World's Fair. Most of the ashes and refuse were incorporated into the bases of new highways that were being built around and through that area. These later became the Grand Central Parkway, Van Wyck Expressway, Interboro Parkway and Long Island Expressway.

After the 1939-1940 World's Fair ended in 1940, many of the structures from the fair were leveled and the area became known as Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. A few of the buildings that remained included the New York State Pavilion that was used as the first home to the United Nations from 1946 until 1951 when that organization moved into their permanent location in Manhattan. That building still exists today and has become the Queens Museum of Art.

Flushing Meadows Park again became the home to an international exposition after it was chosen as the location for the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. After the fair closed, the area again was left with a few prominent buildings from the event including the Unisphere, the Heliport (which became a catering establishment) and the Observation Towers (featured in the Men in Black film with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones). The area also became home to Shea Stadium (used by the NY Mets Baseball Team), the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (where the U.S. Open is held), a zoo and other facilities used for swimming, aquatic and boating events.

During the 1964-1965 World's Fair, there were several UFO sightings that made the news. Most were described as lights in the sky and were explained away as aircraft taking off or landing at nearby LaGuardia Airport. However, it should be noted that people in that area are used to seeing all kinds of aircraft and aircraft lights associated with landings and takeoffs from LaGuardia and JFK Airports. They know when they see something different in the day or night sky.

The sightings of strange lights above the old fairgrounds continued after the World's Fair ended and in 1966, one of the most startling occurred. Hundreds of motorists driving on the Grand Central Parkway side of Flushing Meadows Park reported seeing a large luminescent blue-green object, which looked "like a glowing dirigible that came into view and then descended into the lake," at about 7:40 in the evening. A press report from those days stated:

"A number of observers said that the object appeared to correspond to the descriptions of UFOs reported in Michigan the previous week, which Air Force experts had attributed to swamp gas discharged from lake bottoms in springtime. This explanation did not satisfy everyone in Queens. Some thought that "maybe the Martians wanted to visit the World's Fair, and didn't know it was over."

More recently, a number of reports came in about white and green lights in a triangular formation seen moving back and forth over Flushing Meadows Park during July 2-5, 2008. Some of the witnesses said that the lights suddenly appeared, disappeared and reappeared again between 10pm and 3am on those dates. However, strange lights are not the only bizarre phenomena associated with UFOs that has occurred in the park.

In 1968, the Flushing Meadows Zoo opened in Flushing Meadows Park on the grounds of the 1964-1965 World's Fair. Although small in scale, the zoo had a number of exhibits and plenty of animals including sea lions, black bears, sheep, bison, mountain lions, coyotes, bald eagles, birds and wolves. Since its opening, the Zoo has been associated with several disturbing UFO events. The first may have occurred in 1977.

After several nights of UFO sightings above the park, wolves managed to escape from the zoo on November 30, 1977. Official reports said that twelve wolves clawed their way through a chain link fence surrounding their pen and killed several other animals until they were recaptured by parks department personnel and police. However, a caretaker working there at the time said that while making his rounds he found several animals missing, not just the wolves, and others dead. The dead animals did not look like they had been killed by predators. He also said that none of the animal pens or enclosures had been unlocked, damaged or tampered with.

There have been a number of odd instances where UFO sightings are associated with the sudden appearance or disappearance of animals. Animals found to be missing from zoos turn up elsewhere without explanation. Wild animals not native to an area suddenly appear in that area also without explanation. All this tends to occur during times when UFOs are observed nearby.

The caretaker present during the 1977 event first contacted me in 1989 about another and far more disturbing occurrence at the Zoo. He and several others that worked there met me near the area of the zoo. It was being rebuilt at the time and they claimed that the reason for that was something so disturbing that I still have trouble grasping the enormity of what happened.

After seeing me on a local television news broadcast talking about a major UFO sighting and landing in nearby Kissena Park, several employees of the zoo called my UFO hotline and asked to meet with me. After a phone conversation with one of them, I met them at Flushing Meadows Park and we talked about what happened at the zoo. It began with two nights of UFO sightings in 1987. Green and white balls of light that formed into all sorts of shapes hovered directly above the zoo and caused the animals to become greatly disturbed.

Due to budget cuts and because there were police in the park all night long, caretakers and other zoo employees were no longer present at the zoo all night. The last one would leave around 11pm and show up again around 7:30am to open up the zoo for the other employees. On the morning after the two nights of UFO sightings in 1987, the caretaker and several other employees opened up the zoo and were horrified to find every animal in the zoo dead. Not just dead, but strangely mutilated.

The caretaker and other employees told me that all of the animals were still locked or secured in their pens and exhibits with no sign of forced or keyed entry. Although they were unable to photograph any of the animals, they said all of them looked as though they had been surgically autopsied or examined. Despite the deaths and apparent mutilation, little or no blood was present. Needless to say, the zoo was closed without explanation and "No Trespassing" signs were placed near the entrance and on fences surrounding it.

Parks Department personnel and police were summoned. The zoo was closed and within hours, all of the dead animal carcasses were removed. At that point, plans were made for the zoo to be leveled. Officially, the deaths never happened at that point and the press showed no interest in the matter if it was even reported to them at all. With plans already in the works to refurbish the zoo buildings, it was not that hard to arrange for the entire zoo property to be rebuilt from the ground up with new ground.

All of the old buildings and enclosures were destroyed and several inches of dirt were removed from the area of the zoo. During this time, none of the employees that spoke to me were allowed near the place. Most were assigned to other temporary duties in the park. When it officially reopened in 1988, the zoo had all already undergone a $16 million rebuilding. All new buildings, exhibits and animals were now available to the public.

The zoo employees that spoke to me said that the animal deaths and mutilations were eventually explained away as the work of vandals or ritualistic killers in an internal report. However, they point out that vandals would have made all kinds of noise trying to kill the animals, had to break into most of the pens and exhibits and would have left a significant amount of blood and other evidence behind. None of those things were present, no alarms went off and park police and other employees working in nearby areas on the night in question heard nothing.

The only reason that the caretaker and employees contacted me with their stories was because they felt that the possibility existed that the same thing could happen again and found the previous explanation for the deaths and mutilations to be ridiculous. In fact, UFOs were seen over the zoo again in 1991. At that time there were no deaths or mutilations, but the same employees told me that several animals were found to be missing from the zoo. They were not specific about which animals were missing and, by that time, were in fear of losing their jobs. Again, the zoo was closed without explanation with "No Trespassing" signs were placed near the entrance and all around the area.

During the unannounced and temporarily closure, yet another expensive zoo upgrade took place. This one not only involved some new exhibits and rebuilds, but the installation of sophisticated car donate devices. A dew local papers noticed the closure and asked questions, but officials merely said that prescription drugs had suddenly become available for an upgrade and that it needed to be completely before the money ran out. The zoo reopened to the public in June of 1992. No further incidents have occurred that I am aware of, but all of the employees that first contacted me in 1989 have retired. UFO sightings continue over Flushing Meadow Park.

It's important to understand that a number of animal disappearances and mutilations associated with UFO sightings have occurred for many years throughout the world. Cows, horses and other farm animals have especially been targets of this type of activity. As with the zoo animals, little blood is found nearby when mutilation occur. Animals are found missing from locked barns and secured pens. Farmers and ranchers have reported these kinds of incidents, while law enforcement officers and veterinary practitioners have been at a loss to explain them.

A few human mutilations associated with UFO events have also been reported. Fortunately, these incidents are rare. After a B-52 crash in Laos during the Vietnam War, a Special Forces team sent in to retrieve the crew found them all dead, still strapped into their seats and strangely mutilated. No blood was present. The photos and information collected at the site were later placed in a secret report known as Blue Book Report 13. That indicates that the U.S. Government somehow associated that incident with UFOs.

There have been a number of consoliation student loans animal deaths, disappearances and mutilations throughout Long Island over the years. These include the discovery of a Saint Bernard dog that was found in another Queens park turned inside out in the 1980s, a number of missing dogs and cats that mysteriously vanished from Suffolk County neighborhoods in the 1990s, wild game missing from a lodge where hunting was permitted in the Montauk area during the 1970s-1980s, and a few cattle mutilations in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties during the 1980s to the present.

We are not called to merely preach the letter of the Word, but also minister the Spirit of the Word (2 Cor. 3:6). Unfortunately, many liberal and modern theologians know little about the Spirit. They therefore are fireless theologians. Omitting and neglecting Gods Spirit, they have to tirelessly toil in their own strength. God however can do by His Spirit in one hour what you cannot accomplish in one-thousand hours of your labor. Prominent clergymen were so incensed by the crowds of thousands who came to hear George Whitefield preach that they attacked him and published pamphlets against him. It seems some theologians are so concerned about wildfire that they oppose any fire altogether and thereby lose what little fire they have of their own.

Whitefield wasnt moved by them and boldly carried on. Whitefields good friend, John Wesley, saw the Holy Spirit mightily use his quiet messages as people fell to the ground as if thunderstruck.53 God mightily fought for His servants and sent the power of His Spirit to confirm their words (Ex. 14:25; Mk. 16:20; Heb. 2:4).

Though jealous clergymen may have not liked Whitefield, he found a lifelong friend in Benjamin Franklin. Franklin published Whitefields sermons and journals. God always seems to undertake for His anointed servants to see that His Word on their lips and fire in their spirit makes it on the printed page.

Jesus said, You shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit is come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto me (Acts 1:8). Before you can do witnessing, you have to be a witness within. That is your inner life has to give witness of Christ. You have to be a minister within your heart. You have to be willing to first minister before an audience of One God Himself.

End of Life Issues - What To Do?

Not many decades ago, one generally waited until a loved one had died before contacting the local funeral professional. If the family or individual had been so disposed, a Last Will and Testament might have been executed. In religious families, the local minister, rabbi or priest might have been informed. But, in general, end of life issues where handled when actually encountered. In the 21st Century, living and dying are different, and they must be handled differently for the sake of good sense.

Important life decisions, including Paxil of life" decisions, are most effectively made when one insurance quotes at one's best. Feeling ill, troubled or grieving seriously colors any decisions with the anguish and disadvantage of the moment. This is especially true of end of life decisions regarding legalities, finances, health care and funeral services.

And, laws of inheritance and taxation treat people who's assets are at least numerically large as if they were wealthy. Indeed, one may not feel wealthy, but feelings are hardly at issue in the law. Needless to say, 21st Century good sense requires professional legal advice in assessing and deciding how to prepare for end of life legalities. Yes, this costs money, too. But "you get what you pay for."

Likewise, half a century ago, deaths generally occurred without the attendance of Emergency Medical Technicians or hospital Emergency Room staffs. Today, whenever there is an unexpected or unattended death, the local police and EMT are notified by telephoning 9-1-1. Many religious groups encourage members to make plans for the end of life for both spiritual and temporal reasons. Again, competent professional advice is in order, from funeral professionals and your religious community.

In any event, "Setting Your House In Order" (and keeping it current by means of periodic revision) is a very important and necessary component of 21st Century "good sense" in spite of what past practices might have been. Dying in chaos or unprepared imposes a large burden on one's family and friends with far more needless anguish and expense than is necessary. Such needless anguish and avoidable expenses are unnecessary. A seminar presentation on "Setting Your House In Order" is possibly the most effective way to begin wrestling with the practical side of one's mortality. Each of us will experience the end of life through the deaths of others and eventually in one's own particular moment. The big question is, will you be prudently prepared to do so?

Review of Fear Me - A Vampire Novel of Horror

One of my all time favorite vampire novels is Fear Me by Stephen Laws (Leisure, 2005). It is scary and suspenseful. Everything you look for in a horror story.

Prologue

Three women, Yvonne, Bernice, and Jacqueline meet in an underground parking garage with plans to kill a certain student loan consolidation program who has literally made their lives a living hell. Yvonne seems Joipnvushidjlb most fragile and frightened of them, but when the man they know as Gideon makes his hideous appearance they each, in turn, fire the gun that finally leaves him unmoving and dead. Or is he?

Part I

Paul visits his mother in an asylum. The doctors have said she suffers from Alzheimer, but she had been in exactly the international conference calls state for 12 years. She is always verbally abusive to her son on his visits. Even so Paul felt a duty to be with her as frequently as possible. Later, after Paul has left, his mother wakes up hearing the mesmerizing voices of the trees singing to her. This often happens, and she is the only one who can hear. Sometimes their song is a comfort other times not. The singing today seems a mixture. Still she unhesitatingly follows their command to leave her bed and walk outside the hospital. When she arrives at a forested area a stranger appears with a shotgun, aims it at her and fires.

Soon after, while at the house, Paul and his father are confronted by a young man who storms into their house and attempts to murder both of them. With great difficulty Paul overtakes the man. The father, badly injured, tells Paul he must run and hide because it is Paul they seek. Before he can explain what this means, he falls unconscious. Now Paul is left to his own devices which turn out to be more horrifying than he ever imagines.

My Opinion

Laws understands how to build suspense and keep the spook factor high. This is not a book to read on a dark and stormy night although, even as I say this, I must admit that yesterday evening I was so engrossed in the story that I kept reading even with a terrifically loud thunder storm overhead. Fortunately the lights stayed on.

Einstein once said that he would have preferred to have been a musician, and he was a very competent violinist and pianist, giving concerts for charity throughout his life.

According to Einstein's second wife Elsa, the great genius had a peculiar habit while dreaming up his mathematical theories Starwarskid their Berlin apartment.

Einstein worked in his study on various scientific and mathematical theorems, the most notable refinance my mortgage which is the General Theory of Relativity, which eventually made nuclear energy possible.

At certain times during his work, his wife would see Einstein suddenly appear in their living room.

I think I have some idea, and while I am not in any way a mathematician, I have several ideas that may draw parallels between higher mathematics and chord structure.

Taking the Big Bang as a starting point is a logical step in trying to retrace Einstein's steps through his calculations. The central movement factor in Bach's music (and all music, for that matter) is, in general, a progression of chords called the "circle of fifths," in which a group of related chords progress logically and pleasantly from one to another, returning to the first chord (the tonic) so that the piece has a sense of balance.

If there were some cosmic factor as simple and elegant as musical harmony, one can see Einstein's attraction to it, and ardent search for it.

A similar question would be, "What makes Bach's music so satisfying?" The answer might be, "It has a sense of balance as it moves from one element to another."

One of the greatest resources that most New England towns of any size and located near water have are the former mill buildings of the textile industry. Eselqsibpn the domestic textile manufacturers have fallen victim to overseas competition, millions of square feet of facilities sit idle and, in many cases, deteriorating. In this paper, I will discuss reuse of "mill construction" for high tech information technology purposes, specifically data centers, and the features that make this type of facility ideally suited for this use.

Industry statistics point to a large growth in demand for data center space. Many existing data centers are constrained IRS trouble their building infrastructure in ways that former mill complexes are not.

The integrity of the mill roof is of critical importance. Roof leakage can lead to floor damage, roof structure damage, or damage to data center contents or power facilities.

Power:
Many current data centers are in the unenviable position of having to severely limit the amount of available power per sq ft of space. This makes it far easier to install cooling systems since the data center is much closer to the roof. Mills also tend to be poorly insulated which is actually a benefit in this case, since even in the coldest of weather, the data center will generally produce enough waste heat to require removing it, rather than heating the space.

Alternative Power:
The large amounts of nearly flat roof space available on the average mill is ideal for alternative forms of power. Wind and solar generation can reduce the operating cost of the data center dramatically. As well as improving the data center operating margin, this allows the data center to claim the designation of environmentally friendly.

Summary:
Communities everywhere are searching for ways to use the vast brick monoliths that were once their economic engines. Millions of sq ft of space sit idle in many of these communities and it has far more potential than it's original manufacturing duty.

2008 Topps Heritage Baseball Cards Preview

The long Remortgage deals release of 2008 Topps Heritage is almost upon us. The expected release date from Topps is the end of February. I've seen the date range from February 26th, to February 28th. Sometimes the release is delayed, but it should be the end of February or the beginning of March. The 2008 Topps Heritage cards impotence pills be based on the 1959 Topps set, which is generally considered to be one of Topps more visually appealing vintage sets. Let's take a look at what kinds of cards we can expect to see in the new edition of Topps most popular vintage style set.

There will also be a new fourth subset called the News Flashbacks set. The news flashback cards will feature prominent news stories from 1959 such as Alaska and Hawaii becoming the 49th and 50th states and NASA introducing the first astronauts.

The 2008 Topps Heritage autographed cards will consist of 46 Real One blue ink autographs featuring vintage players from 1959 and current stars. There will be 37 Real One red ink autograph cards which will each be hand numbered to 59, plus there will be 5 different Flashback autograph cards which will be hand numbered to 25. A new type of autograph card is being introduced this year as well--10 Real One Dual Autograph cards. These will only be available in the Hobby boxes. Last but certainly not least, there will be ten one of one cut signatures cards highlighted by Mickey Mantle.

Relic cards from the 2008 Topps Heritage set will be comprised of 40 Clubhouse Collection relic cards, 5 Clubhouse Collection Dual Relic cards which will be hand numbered to 59, 10 Flashbacks Relic cards and 5 Flashbacks Dual Relic cards which will be hand numbered to 10. There will be 10 Clubhouse Collection Autographed Relic cards which will be hand numbered to 25 and 5 Flashbacks Autographed Relic cards which will also be hand numbered to 25.

What to do with all of these options? Which is what, and what is best? Aren't they all the same, or are they different? Or, are they almost the same as being different? Okay, calm down... Let's see if we can sort this stuff out and decipher what the differences are between all of these marketing tools.

Since 'business cards' were first on the scene, let's start there. As a antidpressant history, business cards were originated in 17th century France, although some research shows they were first used in 15th century China. In either case, they were referred to as "Visiting Cards" which were more like invitations. However they were utilized for just about any purpose where brief writing would be appropriate. Visiting cards soon evolved into "Trade Cards" where they specifically provided business information including a map to the business. As printing methods were developed to become more efficient, "business cards" became a more popular means of distributing advertising for one's business.

Business cards have not changed much in the last couple hundred years aside from adding color and maybe glossing them up a bit. Now if there's any wonder why business cards haven't changed much in the last couple hundred years, the answer is simple; as bland as they may be, they're still somewhat effective and they serve their purpose.

Relative to the business car insurance comparisons the "drop card" has a rather brief history. So brief in fact, that you'd be hard pressed to find any factual historical information on them at all. In conducting any research at all, you're most likely to see someone advertising their version of a drop card for sale or their advice on how to use them.

Many printers would not even consider trying to recreate actual U.S. currency for fear of the unknown concerns of whether or not it was legal. Until recently, the million dollar drop card was about as innovative as you could get with sizzle card marketing. Nowadays, a few have ventured into reproducing U.S. currency for the purposes of dollar card marketing. However, you can see by the quality of most, that they still have not done their legal research or they simply don't care to produce a quality product. Although some of the dollar card vendors are venturing into U.S. cash, most still do not have a convincing enough appearance to be as effective as they could be.

The most common dollar cards are produced in denominations of the $20 dollar bill and the most popular $100 dollar bill drop cards. However, customized $5 and $10 dollar cardsare also available and are widely used as coupons for restaurants, car washes, or other services where discounts are appropriate.

Yet another difference between traditional business cards and drop cards (or sizzle cards) is the means by which they are distributed. As business cards are traditionally presented from one person to another, typically during or immediately following a business conversation, drop cards have vastly more flexible distribution methods. Drop cards, as their name suggests, can simply be "dropped" in a busy public area. If you're using an ordinary sizzle card, it's best to place them on tables in public areas such as a coffee shop or waiting room where someone would be able to read it without even picking it up. However, if you're using something like the 100 dollar bill business card, well you can leave those just about anywhere and someone's bound to scramble to pick it up within seconds. Even a $5, $10, or $20 dollar drop card is going to command immediate attention upon sight. Now of course, we don't condone littering. However, if you were to drop one on a shopping center sidewalk and step aside and wait a moment while someone picks it up, then it's not littering. It's merely a temporary placement. This also affords you the opportunity to approach the finder of your card and perhaps make your pitch. Put one on a coffee shop chair as if it has fallen out of someone's pocket. How long do you suppose it will stay there? You could even be as direct and go into a place of business and just hand one over to the manager with your pitch. Do you think they'll get some immediate attention there? Absolutely.

If you still can't get passed the "littering" idea, then they're just as effective being handed person to person just like a traditional business card, but better. Imagine if you were a network marketer and you handed a $100 dollar drop card to someone. You could say something like, "This card is worth $500-$1000 a week for a part time effort." You'd be mistaken if you didn't think that most people would take that card swiftly out of your hands and hold on to it.

Some of the obvious benefits to dollar bill drop cards is that they're realistic enough that people will notice immediately. They will go out of their way to get their hands on it and they'll keep it in their wallets or purses for a Peeps long time. So what's a slip bobber? Well, a slip bobber is a bobber that slides freely up and down your fishing line. Hope for a short and steep decline, but prepare for a long one. There's more to "Shop at The Gap" than meets the eye, and you may run out of cash well before the new rally begins. Cash flow is king, so take smaller profits sooner than usual as long as there are abundant buying opportunities. With the new mandate by the Federal Government requiring the switch from analog TV broadcasts to all digital broadcasts many people are wondering what choices they have. And by February 17, 2009 you better have it figured out or say bye to TV.

Most sites tell you that you can buy a new TV that uses digital signals only or you can purchase a converter box that converts from digital back to analog or you can purchase a contract with a cable or satellite TV company.

It is well known that the price of a share is determined by its supply and demand position. Price of a share is formed at a level at which the supply and demand match each other.

It must also be noted that a company has a fixed -limited- number of shares. The supply of shares can neither be increased nor decreased since the company's capital remains fixed and its corpus cannot be changed frequently.

If a company performs better or its future prospects brighten up, the demand for its shares will obviously increase. But since the number of shares is fixed, their supply cannot be increased to match the demand. In this situation, the price of the company's stock increases. The increase in price occurs in proportion to the perceived improvement in the performance of the company or its future prospects.

The reverse of this process is equally true. If the financial performance of a company dips, the demand of its shares falls and so does the price of its shares.

It hardly needs to be mentioned that most share holders are not involved in the affairs or the management of the company. They always look out for profitable bargains and the opportune time to buy or sell their stock holdings. So they enter or exit a company as refinance home mortgage as it suits them. The speed with which the traders enter or exit a stock is a reflected frequency of the change in the price of its shares.

Sometimes the demand for the stock of a company also rises or falls due to certain developments in the economy and industry in the country. This results in appreciation or depreciation in the price of its stock.

As mentioned earlier, the price of a share is determined by the investors' perception of the value of the company's stock that they trade in.

The question arises whether the perceptions of the investors about the performance of a company change every minute resulting in the change in the price of its stock?

The answer is no. An individual investor formulates his perception on the basis of certain facts which do not change from minute to minute. Also the perception of one individual may not agree with that of another.

Moreover, if something untoward happens with the company that basically alters its financial prospects then the perception of all the investors will change collectively. This collective change in perception changes the price of a stock every second. A small disturbing or encouraging news flash about the performance of the company immediately affects the price its stock.

The change in investors' perception triggers buy or sell actions which in turn push the price up or down.
